As part of the on-going effort of our foundation to inform the widest possible audience about the ocean, it is a pleasure to announce the Masterclass in Marine Environmental Science, organized in cooperation with the Underdirectorate Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries.

This Masterclass will be preceded by a film night called "The Ocean in the Limelight" at TBL Cinemas. This film night was made possible through the support of the International Ocean Institute and the Ecology Action Centre, Canada, who have made the films for this evening available.

The Masterclass will be held at the IGSR Building and is organized with the kind collaboration of the Advanced Teacher Training Institute, Anton de Kom University, and WWF Guianas. The masterclass will be taught by Dr. William Hawkins, and Radjeskumar Asraf.

Both the film night and the Masterclass will be open to anyone. We also welcome students and colleagues from our neighbouring countries to attend the film night and Masterclass.

Below is the draft program for both events. Please see below link where you can fill out a registration document:

Journey in to the depths of a wonderland filled with mystery, beauty and power. Oceans is a spectacular story, narrated by Pierce Brosnan, about remarkable creatures under the sea. It's an unprecedented look at the lives of these elusive deepwater creatures through their own eyes. Incredible state-of-the-art-underwater filmmaking will take your breath away as you migrate with whales, swim alongside a great white shark and race with dolphins at play.
